Adding Collage to Clothes and Bags

Adding Collage to Clothes and Bags

Did you know that you can put your mini collage on clothes and bags?

Because Steam a Seam 2 is permanent it can fuse your collage to more than just a quilt. You just want to make sure you use a lot of steam and heat to really make it stick.

One example is how cute this butterfly looks on a sweatshirt. All you would have to do is place the butterfly on the sweatshirt and then steam it really, really well. You don't need to add any stitching or anything. If you find over time as you wash it that it starts coming loose, you just steam it again. But usually putting it in the washer and dryer, steams it and helps hold that Steam a Seam 2 in place. I've done several sweatshirts this way, and they have held up really well. You could also add the collage to jeans or a jacket.

Another option for your mini collage is to create a reusable gift bag. I have a little drawstring bag that came with some cotton sheets that I had ordered. The bag is made from this lovely soft cotton and I didn't want to just throw it away. However, I don't really need a bag that says Pact. So my butterfly can easily go right over the logo and now I have a reusable gift bag so I can put gifts in. I just have to fill it up with the gift and tie the drawstring. The receiver of my gift can pass it on and use it for a future gift they give. With the butterfly on it the bag is now a beautiful little gift bag that continues to be used.

So that's two ideas for your mini collage projects. I hope this has inspired you to decorate with collage. Now go make something beautiful.
