Easy Pinwheel Potholder

Easy Pinwheel Potholder

Here is how to make a very simple  pot holder using a pinwheel block made from 4 half-square triangles.

You will need:

  • Pinwheel block made from 4 half-square triangles
  • 10" x 10" piece of fabric for the back
  • 2 10" x 10" pieces of batting. I used insul-bright batting.

To make the potholder:

  1. Place the back fabric face down (wrong side is up).
  2. Layer the two pieces of batting on top.
  3. Place the pinwheel square in the center, right side up.
  4. Quilt simple lines through all the layers.
  5. Trim the back and batting along all four edges to match the size of the pinwheel block
  6. Sew 1/2" seam on all four edges. Then trim 1/4" from the sewn line
  7.  Add the binding to the potholder.

And there you have a potholoder. Super easy and fun project using half-square triangles.
