Rotary Cutter Pouch
If you travel with your craft supplies, you know how important it is to protect yourself from an open rotary cutter. Most of us are very careful when packing, but the blade can still become exposed accidently leaving us with serious injury. I designed this simple pouch to keep my fingers safe when traveling with my rotary cutter.

To start, sandwich two pieces of batting between two pieces of fabric. Quilt the pieces together. I did a simple cross hatch pattern with lines about 1/2 inch apart.
Once you have finished quilting, trim the quilt sandwich into a square.
Grab some bias tape and sew along one edge of the square. This will be the top of your pouch. (There is no photo for this step, so be sure you don't miss it!)
Fold the square in half. Place a round object such as a can or jar on the bottom corner that is opposite the folded edge and trace along the circle. Cut along the line to give a rounded edge to the bottom of your pouch. You can do this on both sides or just the non-folded side.
I used clips to hold my pouch together when I cut the rounded edge and sewed the pouch
Sew 1/4 inch and 1/8 inch along the open edge of the pouch. Make sure to backstitch at both ends to secure the openings. I also did a zigzag stitch at the top along the raw edge.
Turn the pouch inside out and enjoy! You can also include a snap, button, or velcro to keep the pouch closed. Now your rotary cutter can travel in style and you dont' have to worry about cutting your fingers when reaching into your bag!
