The Inspiration Behind the Leprechaun Mini Collage
When I traveled to Irelend in 1996, it was with the University of Houston Cougar Dolls Dance Team. We were a part of the marching band and had been invited to perform at the St. Patrick's Day parade in Ireland. This event was for anyone in the group that wanted to go. Five of us Cougar Dolls signed up.

That's me, all the way on the right, circa 1996
During the parade we were behind a float that constantly spewed green smoke into our faces and these cheeky guys dressed up as leprechauns. During the parade they threw gold chocolate coins at the kids along the parade route. (Btw, Irish kids WILL run out in front of you for chocolate!)

The photos are not great because we weren't allowed to have our cameras with us, so I don't have any photos of the event. What I do have is a photo of the video that was recorded of the parade. While the photos aren't the best, I was still able to use the details from the photo to create the leprechaun collage.

There's just something about this jaunty little leprechaun that makes me so happy.
