Windmill Wool Ornament
Let's learn how to make a fun windmill ornament!
For this tutorial you will need:
- White Wool - 1- 5" X 5" square
- Buie Wool - 1 - 5" X 5" square
- Navy Wool - 2 - 5" X 5" square
- Coordinating Embroidery Floss or Perle Cotton
- Fusible such as FlexiFuse
- Ribbon for hanger

To make the ornament:
- Using the templates, trace the appliqué pieces onto the papery side of the fusible.
- Loosely cut out the shapes leaving at least ¼" margins from the drawn line.
- Iron the bumpy of the fusible pieces to the wrong side of the wool.
- Cut out the wool pieces on the drawn line.
- Peel off the paper backing and place the windmill pieces on one navy square.
- Iron the wool to the background, using steam to strengthen the adhesive.
- Use a whip stitch to stitch the appliqué pieces to the background.
OPTIONAL: Add fun embroidery to the ornament. - Fuse the second navy square to the back of the ornament.
- Trim ¼" from the edge of the windmill.
- Use a blanket stitch to sew the back and front of the ornament together.
- Cut a 10" piece of ribbon or thread and attach to back of the ornament with a single running stitch.
- Tie the ribbon togehter at the top to create a hanger for the ornament.
