2-at-a-time Half-square Triangles
If you only need a couple of half-square triangles, then this is a great method to get them both done at once.
Step 1: Draw a diagonal line across the wrong side of one square
Using a marking pen and ruler, draw a diagonal line across the back of one of the fabric sqaures. This line will be what we cut on and will not be visible in the final block.
Step 2: Place Two Fabric Squares Together
Take two squares and place the square with the line on top of the other. Make sure they are right sides together.
Step 3: Sew 1/4" on each side of the drawn line
Sew 1/4" on each side of the drawn line.
Step 4: Cut On the drawn line
Cut on the drawn line. You will get two pieces that will be your half square triangles when pressed open. I usually press towards the darker side.
Step 5: Trim
Trim your half-square triangles to the size that you need, cutting off all dog ears in the process. Again, be careful when trimming so you do not distort the edges of your fabric.
So there you have it, super easy 2-at-a-time half-square triangles.
