Rhododendron - #QuiltBlockMania

Rhododendron - #QuiltBlockMania

This month’s #QuiltBlockMania ended up being an easy one for me since I live close to the Blue Ridge Mountains where there is endless inspiration.  I absolutely love the mountains and enjoy spending hours driving the Blue ridge Parkway.  While fall is the most popular time to visit the mountains, I really enjoy the spring when the trees are turning various shades of green and the flowers begin to bloom.  I found the perfect inspiration for this block when I was looking through my photos from a recent trip during my daughter’s graduation from Appalachian State.

Isn’t it gorgeous?

The rhododendron is a prominent flowering shrub in the Blue Ridge Mountains, known for its large clusters of bell-shaped flowers that bloom from late spring to early summer.  The flowers range from bright pink to white and these plants play a crucial role in the local ecosystem, offering shelter and food for wildlife such as bees and birds. Rhododendrons can be found along trails and in wooded areas. Their presence is a significant attraction for visitors, contributing to the biodiversity and scenic appeal of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

For #QuiltBlockMania I created this sweet Rhododendron Block.

This block is free through the month of June 2024.  After that, you can purchase the pattern for just $3. You can get the block by clicking the link:  Rhododendron Block

You could also make a fun quilt using all the June mountain blocks in the #QuiltBlockMania collection!  Check out the other free blocks for this month from these amazing designers:
