Sea Lion - #QuiltBlockMania

Pack your bags and grab your quilting gear because this month's #QuiltBlockMania adventure is taking us on a vibrant journey to California's sunny shores! The theme this month is beaches. But hold onto your hats, because we're not just stopping at any old beach – we're venturing to the iconic Pier 39 in dazzling San Francisco!

At Pier 39, where the sea meets the city, we'll find a bustling haven of playful creatures, none other than the beloved sea lions! These charming residents have made the pier their home, captivating visitors with their playful antics and barking symphonies.

(our wedding day in December of 1996)

My husband and I visited San Francisco MANY years ago for our honeymoon, and I was spellbound by the enchanting Sea Lions at Pier 39. Inspired by those cherished memories, I've crafted a delightful quilt block that showcases a sea lion hanging out under the Pier 39 sign.  This fun applique block includes simple embroidery for the sea lion's face.

This block is free through the month of April 2024.  After that, you can purchase the pattern for just $3. You can get the block by clicking the link:  Sea Lion Block

You could also make a fun quilt using all the April beach blocks in the #QuiltBlockMania collection!  Check out the other free blocks for this month from these amazing designers:
