Texas Watermelon & Grapefruit - #QuiltBlockMania

It's time for another #QuiltBlockMania post!

This month the theme is farming and I designed a block with a yummy watermelon and grapefruit.

Growing up, Augsust always meant watermelons.  My local community hosted the Watermelon Festival in August every year and I would oftern perform in the hot sun during the event.  While we always ended up sunburned and sweaty, but I still remember much fun it was to participate.  I can't see a watermelon without thinking of those small town festivals.

When I did some I research, I learned that the grapefruit was the state fruit of Texas.  In fact, my great-grandfather owned a large citrus farm and I remember getting fresh grapefruit every time we visited.
